We are planning a small trip to Sedona in about 2 months. I have been there before, but never with a dog. I found plenty of dog-friendly lodging, but I just wanted to make sure our dogs would be allowed (with leash, of course) on the trails, particularly the trails leading to vortexes and such. Any help, please?
Your answer on dogs is here below (for the Federally managed Coconino Forest and points around Sedona. Some areas do, and some prohibit dogs. Scroll about halfway through that FAQ and it will tell you where they are not allowed, and what the requirements are.
Put it this way, I have seen people walking their dogs, always on a leash. There are snakes to watch for.

Dogs are allowed on all trails in Sedona. You will see lots of them. Just pick up the poop along the way if your dog needs to go.

No trouble but they have to be on a leash. I live out here and I run my dogs on the forest roads. You see about the same thing but no other people around so my dogs run free. I run the 3 youngest dogs on the forest roads from 2 to 4 times a day depending on the weather
